DANISH EDUCATION SYSTEM AT A GLANCE

The Danish higher education system is almost similar to that of other European countries. Here is an an overview of the levels of education in Denmark!

Before starting pre-school most children in Denmark benefit from day-care services such as nurseries and kindergarten. Pre-school, which is optional, is followed by nine years of compulsory education in primary and lower secondary school. There is an optional tenth form. The upper secondary education system includes a range of opportunities. Academic programmes allow students to apply for entry to higher education. Vocational programmes are aimed at direct entry to the labour market.

Adult education. The opportunities for lifelong learning in terms of adult education are many. They are offered at all levels. Individual courses are also offered under the Act on Open Education, either at college or university

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

Undergraduate Admission: HSC or GCE “A” Level (a minimum of three principal passes in the appropriate subjects), the Australian matriculation or International Baccalaureate, Canadian Pre-University for Matriculation (OSSD). Minimum requirements of marks (CGPA) differ based on institutions and study programs.

Graduate Admission: A four/three-year undergraduate (Hons) degree programs (or equivalent) which is recognized in credential issuing country as well as in Denmark. Student with pre-master’s program from recognized institution is also eligible for admission in master’s program. Minimum requirements of marks (CGPA) differ based on institutions and study programs. Student who has completed master’s program with required results and other supporting academic achievements can apply for admission in doctoral admission.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Acceptable proof of proficiency in English such as TOEFL or IELTS. The required English proficiency test scores vary from one institution to another based on students admission level. Students, who’s medium of instructions is in English at Previous institutions can be exempted from language proficiency test results requirements.

TEST SCORE REQUIREMENTS:

Generally no test score required for study in Denmark. But scores are advantages if you have any.

SAT is not mandatory but considered as advantage to get admission in some highly ranked institutions for undergraduate programs.

GRE (non-business) / GMAT (for MBA/other business related field) is typically an advantage (not mandatory) for entry into master and doctoral programs in highly ranked institutions.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

BASIC DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA APPLICATION\

Student visa application form ST-1 (Comes from Denmark after payment of tuition fee).
Colored Photo copies (2 sets) of all your educational documents. Academic documents should be legalized from the ministry of education and foreign affairs
Scan copy(2 sets) of all pages of passport (passport should be valid for at least 18 months from the date of visa application). (black & white is acceptable), including cover of passport)
Admission confirmation letter from University.
Initial Fee Payment acknowledgement receipt from the college.
English Language Proficiency certificate
6 passport size photographs with white background.
Highest degree of the student should be legalized from the ministry of external affairs (MEA) and states.
